Following all the hard work from eco-committee, maintenance crew, teachers, the learning mentor and the caretaker with eco projects (planting and growing, sustainability projects, energy projects, water projects, building of a bottle green house, RSPB nature trails, bog garden, bug hotels, shake and rake wild flower meadows) we have been awarded the prestigious green flag award. We proudly display our Green Flag on a flag pole outside the main entrance. Eco-Schools was impressed with Carrfield’s efforts over the years to embed eco projects into the curriculum.
Since achieving the Green Flag award the Eco-Coordinator has successfully organised in school and out of school projects which the children across all Key Stages have and are currently enjoying. We are proactive at sourcing new projects to maintain environmental sustainability at school and in our community for our children to access. Developing the ‘whole child’ is important to us at Carrfield.
“The school is doing a great job where the evidence is clear to see in the eco files. They have a great relationship with the trustess who joins the group every week and the eco team clearly know there role in school. The eco projects are run and lead by the children who are extremely enthusiastic about all things eco. Well done Carrfield.”
We have lots of exciting activities and events taking place, and planned, here at Carrfield. Check out our EcoSchools Blog to see what we have been up to……
